Fun with Lauren

It was a beautiful fall afternoon, and cousin Lauren was over to play. The boys had a blast outside, especially playing in the leaves (but of course my camera wasn't at hand during those cute photo ops.) so I took some a little later.

Here's Lauren pushing Ethan in his car . . .

Lauren also showed Ethan how to climb a tree!!
Ethan just thinks his cousin is so hilarious! Everything he did made Ethan giggle.

Evan Matthew

Mama spent last night in the cities with her good friend, Kyra, who just had baby Evan! He came a little bit early - he was born on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 6 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches! It was so fun to visit them - mom is doing really well, and Evan is also doing well, although he is remaining in the NICU until he can keep his body temp. consistent.

Look at this cute little guy!

It was so fun to hold a newborn again! He is so cuddly and a very content little baby.

Our Little Artist

Here is Ethan's first try at finger painting. He made a couple of masterpieces!!

A Fun Saturday

We had a fun Saturday today, just hanging out as a family. Ethan and daddy both took a 3 hour nap this afternoon, so mom could get some cleaning done, which was nice (mom slept in this morning while the boys were up early!).

This afternoon was beautiful, so Ethan enjoyed playing in the leaves, and especially driving his big truck around.
Here is Ethan eating a cupcake he brought home from daycare yesterday. He's got the sad look on his face, because he realized that his cupcake was gone, and he really wanted more! Not a real flattering picture, but it's all I've got . . .

Apples and Pumpkins

Ethan, Victor, Mom, Aunt Michelle, and Grandma Mary went to an Apple Orchard and small pumpkin patch today. The boys had fun checking out the pumpkins . . . .

They had some toys for kids to play with, so Grandma taught Ethan how to Hula Hoop!
We took a horse-drawn wagon ride out to the orchard where we could pick our own apples. Ethan got a quick "ride" on the horsey, but was a bit wary of the whole idea . . .
After picking the apples, Ethan loved eating them. Well, he just bit off pieces and spit them out, but it still kept him content!
What a fun fall day! Ethan and Victor were very good boys and we had a great time.

Here's a picture of the bedding I'm going to use for baby girl's nursery! My wonderful sister Jenny gave it to me, as she bought it and then had a boy! I'm very excited to get the room ready, now that we know there is a little girl on the way! It probably won't happen until Christmas break, but I can still be excited about it, right?
Here are a couple pictures from the weekend. I just love this time of year with all the beautiful colors! Here area couple trees across the street from us. Judging by the expression on Ethan's face, he doesn't seem to be as excited about them as I am!
We spent a little time out at Grandma and Grandpa's house today, although they weren't there! (They finally return from their trip to CO and CA tonight!) Here's Ethan petting Sheba.
We had Ethan's pictures taken at Target today and they turned out awesome! I can't wait to get them - I'm just regretting not ordering more wallets . . . .I can reorder but it costs about twice as much as if you order right away . . .ugh.

Ultrasound . . .

Thanks to everyone who voted on our poll! The final results were 8 votes for girl and 4 votes for boy. And the big news is . . . . we are having a little girl! Everything looks healthy, although we need to go back for another ultrasound so they can get a better look at the heart and mouth (she had her hands in front of her face the whole time!).

Needless to say, we are thrilled that we are going to have a healthy baby daughter!

Ethan's New Skill

Ethan has figured out how to take his shirt off. Mom did not encourage this or assist him - he just randomly discovered that he could do it . . . He was so excited about it this afternoon that it was difficult for mom to get him to keep his shirt on . . .

Here, you can see the process of learning to take your shirt off! It's pretty exciting.

Ethan and mom spent a beautiful fall day together today. We went for a couple walks and played at the park. It was so beautiful with all the fall colors, and the weather was perfect!

Our Happy Guy is Back

After a long week of Ethan being grumpy every evening, he was back to being his happy old self this weekend. On Friday night he went to bed at 4:45 pm and slept through the night! Both days this weekend he took lots of naps, so he was obviously sleep deprived.

This afternoon we went to Cousin Andrew's 9th birthday. Ethan had so much fun playing with cousins Andrew and Camryn, and seeing Aunt Shelley and Uncle Jason!
This evening we went for a walk, which Ethan insisted on even though it was wet and cold outside. He loves to walk around the block with his wagon behind him.

Tonight mom's busy getting ready for a busy week- Parent - Teacher conferences on Monday and Wednesday nights. However, then I get Thurs. and Friday off of school for Teacher's Convention which will be a nice break!

20 Weeks Pregnant!

Mom is officially 20 weeks pregnant today! Yay! We have our ultrasound scheduled for 1 week from today on Friday the 10th. We are hoping the baby cooperates and we are able to find out if we're having a boy or a girl!

Ethan wants you to predict whether he is having a little brother or little sister! Please vote in the poll!!!

Night-Night Song

Every night we sing this little song which wishes everyone we know "night-night." However, Ethan only wants to sing night-night to da-da. He is requesting us to insert "da-da" into the song through the whole thing. We think it's pretty funny . . .

On a side note, the night-night song was sung at 6 pm tonight! Ethan is soooo worn out from being at daycare all week that he can barely function in the evenings - Oh and "Gracie and Jordan" in the song are his friends from daycare.

I wish our video camera had a flash on it! Sorry for the dark video . . .

Halloween is coming!

We ordered Ethan a cute little monkey costume from Old Navy and thought it would be fun to try it on him tonight.

Look how much Ethan is enjoying wearing it . . .

We are going to do portraits in a couple weeks, including a couple in his costume. Hopefully he will be more cooperative then! Or at least look as if we are NOT torturing him!
