Letters to my kids

Sometimes life seems to move too quickly . . .

Although my kids wear me out right now, it is such a fun time of our lives together!  I never want to forget some things about the way they are right now . . .

Macie,
You are such a beautiful little girl.  It's so fun to be able to communicate with you at such an early age.  You crack me up with some of the things that come out of your mouth!  I love it when you fill in letters when we sing the alphabet song.  You can even count!  You have the most beautiful little mouth, round cheeks, and curly blond hair.  You have a mind of your own!  If you don't want something you aren't afraid to say "no!"  You've become a lover of Popsicles, mac and cheese, books, and Blue's Clues movies.  It's funny to hear you say, "Popsicle" and "ice cream."  You also love taking baths, especially with your brother!  I don't want to forget how you sit in your little chair in the living room and read your books, how your giggle sounds when I tickle you.  Sometimes it's so hard for me to leave you to go to work in the morning - Summer is almost here!  Daddy and I are so crazy about you!!

Ethan,
You are so funny!  You have a great sense of humor and love to make us laugh.  You tease mom about drinking Diet Coke, you wipe my kisses off, and you wear your pull-up on your head like a helmet!  You are a guy on the go!  You are so busy enjoying life! You love riding your scooter, going to the park (especially swinging),  and going for rides in mom or dad's car.  You are so smart and love to read books by yourself or with mom, dad, or grandma.  Right now some of your favorites are "Dora," "I Love you Through and Through," and Clifford books.  You like to watch all kinds of movies, including non-fiction like "All About John Deere" and "Garbage Day."  You like to talk about your friends at daycare and you love spending time with grandma, grandpa, and your aunts and cousins.  You love eating cold food like frozen grapes, Popsicles, and ice cream.  Your dad and I love you so much!!

Happy Birthday!

We had so much fun celebrating Grandpa Mike and Aunt Jenny's birthdays on Wednesday!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day so we played outside all evening.

Ethan is so excited!  It's hard to wait to eat cake and ice cream!

Play Date and Water Play

After I had recovered from my bought with strep throat, we decided it was time for some fun.  So, today the kids and I made a road trip to St. Paul for a play date with my good friend, Angela, and her two cuties, Finn and  Lily.  We walked to this fantastic park and had a blast visiting!

It was a perfect day for hanging out with friends!  Thanks for having us!

When we pulled into the driveway, Ethan immediately noticed the neighbor kids enjoying their hose and pool, so we had to get out our brand new sprinkler and have some outdoor fun!  The weather was so warm we just couldn't resist.

Macie wasn't so sure what to think of the water . . .
This taste of summer made us excited for more to come!

Some advice, please . . .

Ethan's evening snack tonight:

cold noodles
frozen grapes
ice cream
2 popsicles

What's a mom to do??  He loves cold things.  Any suggestions on how I can get some nutrition into him, if he'll only eat frozen, or very cold food???

Also, Macie's hair is so curly after her bath.  Are there any baby products to put in her hair to keep it curly?

To celebrate Mother's Day, the family went to Carson Park to play!  The kids had a blast - and so did mom and dad!
I'm blessed to have a beautiful family!
