Fun at Daycare!

Ethan really loves going to daycare. When I say, "We are going to see Gracie, Jordan, and Candace!" he gets so excited and giggles!
Here he is with Gracie (4) and Jordan (5) (They may be 5 and 6 - I'm not positive!) They have so much fun together!
Here's Ethan with Candace, who is such a great baby-sitter! He is also wearing the outfit she got him for Christmas!

Ben is 4!

Cousin Ben had a super fun birthday party tonight! We had cupcakes, pizza, and went swimming at a hotel! Ethan Loved swimming in the pool! There was a little baby pool just perfect for him!!! Here he is ready to go down the mini-slide. What a big boy!!

Happy 30th, Mama!

Yesterday was mama's 30th birthday! She got all ready for a nice supper out with daddy and Grandma Mary came over to watch Ethan . . . .
But when they got home, there were lots of people in our house! They threw mom a surprise party! She was VERY surprised!!!! Mom has the most amazing friends and family ever. Here are some of the guests . . . .
Eric and Debbie . . .
Uncle Luke made the trip from Madison to help mom celebrate!
Carl and Jane . . . .
Grandma and Michelle . . .

Theresa, Kyra, Jane, and Carrie. There were more guests too, (Auntie Jenny, Grandpa Mike) and mom is sooooo thankful to everyone who came to help her celebrate! It was the best birthday party anyone could ask for!!!!

Ready for Night-night

I had to post this picture of Ethan all ready for bed in his jammies, with daddy. Daddy is now the sicky in the family, and has been coughing since last night. We both drank some thera-flu awhile ago, so hopefully we will be ready to celebrate mom's 30th birthday tonight.
Ethan and mom started out the day running errands. We went to the car wash, the bank, and Wal-mart. Ethan was getting antsy while we were shopping so I was doing everything I could to entertain him, while shopping for the week's groceries. Talk about an expert multi-tasker! I was pushing him in the cart playing peek-a-boo with his coat, reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?, and singing to him. We were quite a sight, I'm sure.

Looking Brighter

Well, things are much better around our home today! Mom did stay home, and after a day of rest is now feeling much better! Ethan was in a great mood all day, and we had fun playing. Here is E. making a tower with his blocks from Lily that he got for his birthday. Of course, the blue ring has to go on top. He carries those rings around with him everywhere!
Thank goodness for Grandma Mary. She came and took Ethan on a little outing so mom could get lots of rest. It was a nice, sun-shiny day, so they took a trip to visit Great Grandma Lue in the hospital. Grandma Mary said he really brightened her day.
Here's a picture of the "big guy" with his long hair (time for another hair cut??) and big teeth! He is looking so old . . . not a baby anymore!

Is it spring yet?

I apologize for the lack of posts, but things have been pretty dull around here. Ethan and mom both went to the Dr. yesterday for what turned out to be the flu. Ethan is doing much better today, and mom is about the same - I went to work today, but everyone told me I shouldn't come tomorrow because I "look like death" as one compassionate co-worker put it! So, I made up lesson plans after school just in case. I'm still undecided about what I will do . . .

As for Great Grandma Lue, she has been moved out of critical care. It turns out she had a heart attack and has congestive heart failure. She's doing better, though, which is a blessing. She will be going the a swing nursing home after release from the hospital.

I am so sick of the cold weather, not being able to get outside and exercise, and everyone being sick. Argh. My new guilty pleasure (see side of blog page) involves sitting out here in the freezing cold office, which probably isn't the best idea, so frump.

I must end by saying that I am soooo blessed to have an amazing family, friends, a career I love, and a warm house to live it. Sometimes it just seems that these cold winter days are going to go on FOREVER!

Mama's Little Cuddle Bug

Ethan was very cuddly this morning after a long, hard night of being sick. It was good for both of us to lay together, listening to music on the couch. It is very rare that Ethan is willing to sit and cuddle with me, so I guess that is one hidden blessing of him being sick.

After his morning nap, Ethan woke up feeling much better and almost back to himself, which is great to see! I think things are on the upswing now.

Ethan's Great Grandma Lue (Mama's Grandma) is in the hospital. She is suffering from pneumonia and some problems with her heart. Please keep her in your prayers! Mama went to visit her today and she looks like she needs lots of rest and TLC.

A Little Hottie

Ethan is still running quite a fever. His actual temp. fluctuates and the numbers aren't off the chart, but he just feels so hot. When I was getting him ready for bed, he felt so warm that I couldn't bear to put a sleeper on him, so I laid him down in his diaper. I just went to check on him, and he's still sweating. I am worried about the little guy- If he's not better by tomorrow we may need to take a trip to Urgent Care.

Under the Weather

Ethan and mom had to come home early today from daycare/work because Ethan was running a fever. He got right into a cool bath, got his jammies on, and took a nap with mamma in the big bed. Now he is eating cheddar bunnies and an orange, so he is a happy camper again, although his temp is still at 101.1. It was definitely nice to have some quality snuggle time with him. He is really a trooper when he's sick, and doesn't complain much, but is just kind of lathargic. Hopefully he'll be back to his old self again soon . . .

Happy Valentine's Day!

We celebrated the big day by eating out at the mall. Very romantic. However we did comment that it was the perfect Valentine's Day, spending time as a family. How else did we celebrate? By going night-night, of course!

A Lazy (and very cold) Weekend

Here's a shot of E and mama from yesterday. We've pretty much been laying around the house all weekend. Today, as of 3:30 pm, none of us have gotten out of our pjs. I think I'm ready to do some school work and get ready for the week. It is insanely cold here in our computer room and I think I will get frostbite unless I keep this brief. You can see your breath in here!

Wild Man!

Shortly after mama got home from work yesterday, she went to get Ethan out of his crib from nap time and his hair was absolutely crazy! I tried to capture the effect on film, but this picture really doesn't do it justice. He looked like a peacock, and it would NOT lay flat, no matter how much spit I used (oh, come on, all moms do it!)

Sometimes Ethan just wears himself out playing so hard, and he has to take a break and lay down on his comfy stuffed cow, "Mr. Moo." As a side note, Mr. Moo is really comfy and mom has been known to also use him as a pillow while napping on the couch!

You have no idea how funny snack time is!

Ethan has developed this really funny laugh. I felt it needed to be shared. It makes us giggle just to listen to him!

Bath Time

Ethan loves his bath time! As soon as we tell him it's time for a bath, he climbs up the stairs and heads straight into the bathroom to help mommy fill the tub.

He has an adorable ducky bath towel that he got from Ben and Oliver for Christmas!
After bathtime, he likes to go into his crib, turn out the lights by himself, and drink his bottle in peace.
On a side note, one of Ethan's new favorite things to do is open and close doors. Since we have an older home, there are lots of doors around to open and close. Here we are playing Peek-a-boo with the door. Good times. (Theresa, NO comments about the white turtleneck :)!!!!)

A CAMERA FIASCO!

So, my camera hasn't been working all week and I decided to buy a new one today. To make a long story short, I spent the better part of the afternoon shopping for a camera, and I got home, turned on my old one, and it worked perfectly. Argh. Now what do I do?? Return the new camera, or try it out to see if I like it better?
